We compared all universities in Berlin and Germany.
Berlin is one of the largest and most diverse scientific regions in Europe. Around 200,000 people from all over the world have come to Berlin to study at one of the city's four universities, seven technical colleges, four art colleges and 27 private colleges. The Hochschulkompass provided by the German Rectors' Conference offers information on courses of study throughout Germany. Using this data as a basis, we present visualizations and analyses of Berlin as a hub for science and research.

A total of 2.8 million people are enrolled in higher education in Germany, with around 20 percent of these students at the country's ten largest universities alone. Since the Higher Education Compass contains data on the whole of Germany, here we provide an overview of what the university landscape looks like across the entire country.
